Devotees visiting the sacred city of Ujjain for the darshan of Baba Mahakal will now have to pay to experience one of the temple’s most popular attractions. The Light & Sound Show at Mahakal Lok has officially become a paid event, with the temple administration introducing a ticket fee of ₹100 per person.
The decision has been implemented with immediate effect after the show was offered free of cost for nearly seven months. During this period, thousands of devotees and tourists attended the presentation, making it one of the most visited attractions within the Mahakal Temple complex.
The show uses modern lighting, projection technology, music, and storytelling to showcase the spiritual significance of Lord Mahakal, the history of Ujjain, and the grandeur of Mahakal Lok. Temple authorities believe the ticketed model will help maintain and improve the quality of the show while managing operational and maintenance costs.
