Principal Director General of Income Tax gave information to businessmen Indore. Principal Director General of Income Tax Intelligence and Criminal Investigation Sunita Bainsla, who came from Delhi, informed the businessmen of Indore about the e-verification scheme.
The Income Tax Department has just started this scheme, in which information about undisclosed income can be given by filling tax in the return update. That is, the department has given a chance to the taxpayers to rectify the mistake, so that they can avoid future tax evasion charges and departmental action.
The Principal Director General of Income Tax had a direct discussion with representatives of tax organisations, business industry at Aaykar Bhavan and explained the provisions of e-verification related to income tax with GST in this financial year.
In fact, this new system has been implemented on the portal, in which taxpayers are informed about their undisclosed income without scrutiny.
This information is obtained by the Income Tax Department from different sources and its purpose is that the taxpayer should rectify his mistake by paying additional tax, so that departmental action can be avoided in future.
Other business representatives including Sumit Suri of the Hotel Association were present along with the CA Association. He also sought solution through many questions. At the same time, the Principal Director General of Income Tax also held a meeting with the departmental officers and sought suggestions regarding this scheme. Taxpayers were also assured that if there is wrong information in the notice issued by the department, they can get it rectified by giving the correct answer along with the documents. After checking the veracity of this filed reply, the department can cancel such cases after preliminary investigation, so that taxpayers can be saved from unnecessary future action taken by the department.
