Petrol

During lock down, petrol refueling stations have been given instructions to not allow vehicles without the curfew pass to refuel. Hence it is wise to save up the petrol in your tanks for when the Curfew is lifted because then petrol stations would be flooded with people to get their tanks refilled. Even if you have to go out for grocery restocking, try to do so when it is absolutely necessary, otherwise try to walk instead. Keeping your tank fueled also keeps it moisturized, preventing the vehicle from rusting and the damage it causes.

Battery

It is quite a possibility that you won’t be able to use your vehicle for a really long time, which naturally might cause your lead-acid batteries to discharge easily. A smart solution for this problem is to disconnect it, or else start your vehicle in every 5-7 days and keep it running for 15 to 20 minutes.

Tyres

Keep your tyres moving for a while from side to side, maintaining its shape and avoiding cracks. If you have a chance, try to fill your tyres to maximum air pressure limit. If you have two wheeler just manually move it around a bit and it will be good for the time. Keep your two wheeler on main stand to avoid the tyres from touching the ground which is the best solution to preserve them while they are unused.

Brakes

It has been a common suggestion by experts worldwide that if you keep the hand brakes of your car engaged for a long time, they might get jammed and extremely difficult to disengage when required. To avoid this, it’s smart to keep your car in gear while use Tyre blockers to avoid movement of the car. In case of bikes, keep all the parts properly lubricated while regularly checking parts like suspensions and levers and cables.

Interiors

You might not use your cars for a long time, seeing the conditions of the country. Therefore it might have to be kept locked up and unused. So ensure that the car does not have any perishable items stored inside that might rot or smell later.
