7 month Cinema hiatus to end, Movie Theaters are finally back in business!
Theatres that are all set to open from 15th October under the Government of India’s Unlock 5.0 guidelines, will see a new set of trends that they are obliged to follow to be able to run business. Some basic rules will be to follow social distancing, where only alternative seats shall be available for booking. Apart from this, other new trends that shall be observed include:
- The audience can book 30% of the seats in the theatre hall and the entire hall shall be theirs.
- Tickets would be sold at the previous prices only; some theatres might also cut down prices by 15%.
- The viewers shall receive an e-receipt after making card payments to minimize contact.
- Three links shall be provided as soon as the ticket is confirmed. The first link will have the ticket, the second one will have seat details and the third one shall enable viewers to order breakfast.
- The canteen inside the movie theatres shall not provide any unpackaged food; only packaged food shall be sold.
- For now, no new movies are available; the audience can decide to show timings and book a theatre hall for private viewings.
- Movie theatre authorities shall show movies of Irrfan Khan, Rishi Kapoor, and Sushant Singh Rajput, or do screenings of IPL matched to woo the audience.
Indore has a total of 45 screens where 38 of them are in 4 multiplexes alone. A trial run was conducted in the city on Tuesday to ensure the smooth functioning of the theatres following the imposed guidelines. The time between the two shows in the multiplex is also extended. The intervals will be planned in such a way that people from two different shows do not come out at the same time. Whereas major multiplexes have decided to work upon the booking system, single-screen theatres like Jyoti and Prafull will open by screening classics and old films, according to a statement by director Basant Ladha. It is a new step towards living a new normal amidst the COVID-19 pandemic with gradually life turning back to the way things were, only with extra caution and keeping your health and safety in mind.
We urge all our viewers and followers to support the government and the authorities in their endeavor to fight this pandemic in the country. We urge them to not panic and stay positive and kind to all those who are battling with this virus, stay aware and safe, and assist the authorities in any way you can to prevent further spreading of this virus.
