Indore: Launch of "Har Ghar Solar Campaign" Marks a New Era for Solar Energy.

Indore embarks on a groundbreaking journey towards a greener future with the commencement of the “Har Ghar Solar Campaign” today. Spearheaded by Mayor Pushyamitra Bhargava, this initiative aims to propel the city towards new heights in solar energy adoption. In conjunction with the launch of the campaign, the inclusion of the Solar Friend Campaign is also proposed, further emphasizing Indore’s commitment to solar energy.

The Har Ghar Solar Campaign signifies a pivotal step towards establishing Indore as a Solar City. This initiative seeks to inspire residents to embrace solar energy by encouraging them to fill out pledge forms to connect with solar energy. Alongside promoting the installation of solar panels in households, this endeavor aligns with the smart city development plan, aiming to elevate Indore’s status as a Solar City.

In its initial phase, the campaign kickstarts with the launch of solar energy projects under the Municipal Corporation’s purview. Residents will have the opportunity to join the solar energy movement by filling out consumer pledge forms. This initiative aims to motivate people to install solar panels on their rooftops, contributing to Indore’s journey towards energy independence and fostering sustainable development.

The Municipal Corporation sets an ambitious target of generating 300 megawatts of solar energy within three years, augmenting the existing capacity of 41 megawatts with additional solar energy plants. This significant investment in solar infrastructure reflects Indore’s commitment to harnessing renewable energy sources and reducing dependency on conventional energy sources.

To facilitate the transition to solar energy for consumers, the Municipal Corporation introduces user-friendly schemes. Consumers can easily switch to solar energy by scanning designated QR codes, provided as part of the initiative. Additionally, consumers can opt to install solar plants through the electricity department, ensuring cost savings and recovering the investment within five years.

The solar energy development plan unfolds in three phases. By May 2024, the aim is to produce 90 megawatts of solar energy, followed by the installation of a total of 200 megawatts of solar plants across the city by March 2025. The final phase, from March 2026 to March 2027, will see the installation of an additional 100 megawatts of solar plants. Through this comprehensive strategy, Indore strides towards its vision of becoming a Solar City.

Conclusion:`

The launch of the Har Ghar Solar Campaign marks a significant milestone in Indore’s transition towards sustainable energy practices. With concerted efforts and innovative initiatives, Indore is poised to emerge as a frontrunner in the adoption of solar energy, setting an inspiring example for cities worldwide.
