After Dancing Cop, Indore sees Dancing Traffic Girl - The New Sensation of India.
We’ve seen the initiatives taken up by the Indore Traffic Police which are creative, smart and unique. Our city saw Dancing Cop Ranjeet, who tried to school the people for their traffic habits with his quirky dance steps that made him a sensation in the city and out of it. Now a 23-year-old MBA student, Shubhi Jain, famously known as ‘Dancing Traffic Girl’, has been scouring the signals of Indore to request the people, in her own Thalaiva swag, to follow the traffic rules. Indore is a hub of creative minds, you’ll find things here that you might never even expect. We Indoris have made a unique stand in the country by being in the news for one thing or the other. After winning the Swachhta Abhiyaan for the third time, we’ve now put up our minds to resolve the bad traffic situation of our city. This is probably the reason why a girl, who’s not even from Indore, has been given acceptance and respect by the Indoris for her effort, making her and her ways famous in the entire country.
More about ‘Lady Thalaiva’
This 23-year-old is a first-year MBA student from Symbiosis, Pune who came to Indore a few weeks ago in search of a social Internship, as part of her course curriculum. She started working with an NGO for a few days and then became a traffic volunteer, an opportunity offered by the Traffic Police of Indore. It’s been a few weeks since she started her work, slowly and gradually improvising her style to aware and request people to follow the traffic rules. In her candid talk with Indore Talk, she remarked that the key to making people understand the importance of traffic rules is to not just request them to follow the rules, but appreciate them with a smile and a thank you when they actually do it. She loves it when people smile at her when she thanks them for wearing helmets and seatbelts.
Her Journey to Becoming Famous
Dancing Traffic Girl reached where she is today due to her spirit to bring about a change and of course through the amazing power of social media. A few of her videos went viral, showcasing her Thalaiva style on the Indore traffic signals. After which she not only gained recognition in the local city media, but the national news platforms also came forward to publicize her story to the nation. During her interview with Indore Talk, she revealed that she has already given 25 interviews so far. She is being considered as an inspiration for the youth who can bring about a positive change if they put their minds to it.
Her cheery personality and a truckload of energy are what makes her style so distinct. She is jovial in her work, which compels people to actually listen to her and obediently follow the traffic rules, which otherwise they never hesitated to break. If a person, who does not even belong from Indore, gives so much of her time, effort and energy to improve the traffic of our city, why can’t we Indoris do the simple and responsible task of following the traffic rules? It’s not that hard to wear seatbelts or helmets, respect the traffic signals and avoid rash driving. Let’s all learn from inspirations like Lady Thalaiva and bring about a change, starting from our own city.
