This Roop Chaudas, Along with Swacchta let's Beautify our Indore in all senses!
The biggest festival celebrated in India is finally here, Diwali! This festival of 5 days brings hope, positivity, and goodness to our lives. Shopping, getting ready, and getting together are what brings us the most fun. The second day of Diwali, Roop Chaudas is in fact a day when people specifically get all ready and beautiful. Many women even go to salons to get their looks done. However, Roop Chaudas is not just about getting our faces beautiful but is also about beautifying our hearts & souls.
But when you talk about Indore, Indorians are just a step ahead of everyone else. City Indore has always tried its best to be number 1 in everything. We all know how Indore has succeeded in beautifying its ‘Roop’, how it has worked every day towards making itself the cleanest city in India. Not only once but Indore has won this title for over three consecutive years now and is still maintaining the reputation. While Indore is working towards making itself better in every sector, there are some sectors where we need to start working now.
✔ Traffic
As much as Indore is growing in every sector, its population is also growing and eventually leading to the growth of traffic. Indore sure has made headlines with its cleanliness but now it is time to control the traffic of the city. Increasing road traffic has led to a great increase in accidents, air pollution, and noise pollution. Moreover, it has become quite common for people to break traffic rules in Indore. We all know that many people in the city take traffic rules quite lightly. Although the traffic police of Indore have started taking actions to control traffic, it is ultimately our responsibility to go on roads by following the rules, to beautify the roads of Indore in every sense.
✔ Civic Sense
Here’s the truth, many people don’t even know what Civic Sense means. Civic sense, in simple words, is the norms we, as humans, should follow in society. Being impolite to people, honking on roads, showing no consideration to elders or children are some things that you will commonly find people do on the roads. And, this is what lack of civic sense is. If you want to make Indore the best city, you have got to start with following civic sense when you step outside. Civic sense shows the reputation of a person, city, or country to others. Now, when people love Indore for its Poha Jalebi & Cleanliness, we obviously don’t want to lessen that love by lacking civic sense in ourselves, right?
✔ Environment
Yes, Indore has legit become the cleanest city and this cleanliness has helped a lot in making the environment better. But we all know there’s so much that we still need to work on, right? From air and noise pollution to huge wastage and bad sewage systems, numerous things contribute to a bad environment. And, these are exactly the things we are talking about. It is time that we Indoris should learn the mantra of Reuse, Recycle & Reduce and understand the importance of trees, wildlife & a clean environment.
✔ Right Use of Social Media
“Exterior beauty, without the depth of a kind soul, is merely decoration”- People need to understand and learn this quote more than ever in today’s digital world. Since social media is a place where you can’t see the real identity of a person, people often take advantage of it. Online trolling and bullying has increased to an extent where it has started to ruin people’s lives. Although we know that this problem exists almost everywhere around the world. But at least we can start reducing this problem by using digital media with the right purpose and in the right way, right? So, let’s try making our Indorians healthy digital media users and not mean trolls who pull each other down virtually. Let’s not just change our display pictures but also change the content we post digitally!
✔ Change Starts With One!
Someone has said it right, change starts with one person, one city, one country. This RoopChaudas, let’s not just beautify our looks but also try beautifying our city. We know, this process is not a one-day thing but practicing a little of it regularly will surely make Indore the best city one day. And in the end, we want our city to be the best in everything, right? So, let’s start with the four things mentioned above and work on them one thing at a time.
