But here’s a bigger question:
Can Indore become India’s next hub for women entrepreneurs?
The momentum is certainly building.
According to recent government data, one in every four registered MSMEs in Madhya Pradesh is now owned by a woman, representing 2.28 lakh women-led enterprises that employ more than 10 lakh women across the state.
Closer to home, Indore continues to strengthen its entrepreneurial ecosystem. In just the last two years, the district registered 44,500+ new enterprises, generating over 1.7 lakh employment opportunities. During the same period, 301 women entrepreneurs directly benefited from state MSME support schemes, reflecting a growing institutional push towards women-led businesses.
Across Indore, women are building fashion labels, wellness brands, cafés, creative studios, digital agencies, coaching platforms, food businesses, and technology startups. Many are transforming passion into profession, while others are creating businesses that generate employment and strengthen the local economy.
Technology has also become a powerful equalizer. Social media, e-commerce, digital payments, and flexible work models have made it possible to launch and scale businesses with far fewer barriers than ever before.
Yet, entrepreneurship isn’t sustained by ambition alone.
Women founders need access to mentors, funding, professional networks, business education, and platforms that celebrate their success while helping them overcome challenges.
This is where Indore has an opportunity to lead.
Imagine a city where experienced entrepreneurs mentor first-time founders, women-led businesses collaborate instead of compete, colleges nurture aspiring women entrepreneurs, and communities create visibility for local success stories.
That ecosystem would do more than support businesses, it would shape a new entrepreneurial culture.
Indore already has the talent.
It has the ambition.
It has the market.
The next step is creating stronger communities that empower women to dream bigger, build confidently, and scale sustainably.
Because when women build businesses, they don’t just create wealth.
They create jobs.
They inspire confidence.
They strengthen families.
And they help build a more resilient economy.
Perhaps the question is no longer whether Indore can become India’s next women entrepreneur hub.
The real question is:
How quickly can we build an ecosystem where every woman with an idea has the confidence, support, and opportunity to turn it into reality?
