Team Indore Talk Initiative: Hashtag #IndoreGetVaccinated awareness drive to get city vaccinated.

Indore has come a long way in the year since the pandemic hit, we have experienced months of lockdown, social distancing, seen frightening numbers of Covid-19 infected people, stayed in terror, and then gradually learned to live our lives alongside the virus, making it our new normal. Masks and sanitizers, washing hands, maintaining distance, avoiding crowded places, staying indoors as much as possible, we instilled all this in our daily lives. The first wave of COVID-19 was unexpected and we were unprepared. Team Indore Talk realized the need for abating this panic then, hence we launched a campaign #IndoreFightsCorona. This campaign was a major success that managed to burst myths, encourage people, and spread positivity in times of a pandemic.

Now it’s been a year since the first lockdown and while the COVID-19 positive cases had seemed to dwindle and people started to relax, a new wave of infection spread in the world, as was predicted by the scientists. But this time, we are not unprepared. We not only have prior experience but also a weapon to fight the infection. Indian scientists and their meticulous work for months resulted in India owning not one but two vaccines Covaxin and Covishield, both of which are now released for the use of the public in various phases. Where the first phase was dedicated to frontline workers and healthcare workers the second phase opened the vaccine for people above the age of 60 and people with comorbidities above the age of 45. This vaccine drive has now moved to its next phase for all people above the age of 45 irrespective of whether they have any comorbidities or not.

The second wave of COVID-19 proved to be even deadlier for the reason that everything was open, there were no lockdowns or curfews and people became relaxed seeing the reducing number of cases. The infection is impossible to trace and its spread cannot be contained, so it is advisable to be cautioned and take all the safety measures. And now a COVID-19 vaccine is in reach, people who are in the most danger of facing serious consequences from the virus can get vaccinated and shield themselves from getting infected.  So with Indore Talk’s initiative of #IndoreGetVaccinated, we urge every Indori to utilize the government-provided vaccines and be a facilitator in stopping the COVID-19 virus to take another year of our lives with fear. Team Indore Talk is prepared with all the information that you need related to the vaccines, armed with myth busters and interviews with authorities and experts who can answer all your questions about the vaccines.
