Ind vs Ban Test Match: Team India sweeps Bangladesh the Pitch Clean in Indore.
The Indori people were extremely excited about the fact that the first Test Match between India and Bangladesh is being held in the city. With the Bangladesh team getting all out with a low run score of just 150 in 58.3 overs, the fans were waiting with baited breaths for the Indian team to progress the match. In a continuous two day batting, the Indian team managed to score 493 runs in 114 overs. After which on the third day the Bangladesh team got the chance to score again. Unfortunately for them, the team got all out again in 69.2 over, while making 213 additional runs. Hence the Indian team won the match with 130 runs, shortening the duration of the originally 5-day match to just 3.
Although the team India fans were extremely happy about the win, some were a little disappointed too. There were people in the city who were unable to take leave from their respective jobs for the day so that they could see the match. Hence they had made intensive plans to catch the end trail of the match on Sunday. Unfortunately for them, our team of dedicated players ended the match early with an incredible win. This, therefore, became a bittersweet moment for us Indoris. On one hand, we are extremely proud of our players, but we are also a tinge bit disappointed to bid goodbye to the Indian cricket team from our city, and that too earlier than planned.
Some of the major highlights of this match were Mayank Agrawal’s 243 runs and Mohommed Shammi’s all-around seven wicket-taking, which helped India to win their sixth consecutive Test. The player of the match was won by Mayank Agrawal. In an interview after the match, Virat expressed himself by saying, “Our focus is to take the Indian cricket higher and higher. The motivation and the intent are right and we don’t care about the numbers. The motivation has been right, the intent has been right and we are going to keep pushing in that direction.” The Holkar Stadium was buzzed with the excitement of victory, filled with the happy chatter of the spectators who thoroughly enjoyed the third day of the match, where the first two days were admittedly a tad bit drab. This is India’s 10th win by an innings under Virat Kohli. He goes past the record of 9 under MS Dhoni’s captainship.
All those cricket enthusiasts who were unable to catch the Test Match this time have another opportunity. Second India vs Sri Lanka test match shall be held in Holkar Stadium next year on 7th January 2020. With the winning streak that India has maintained, we all hope that other remaining test matches would also be in India’s favor.
