2-Minute Read | Mindful Living by Indore Talk
Every morning, thousands of people step onto Indore’s roads with a destination in mind.
A meeting.
A classroom.
A delivery.
A hospital.
A home.
Yet somewhere between the first traffic signal and the final turn, patience often disappears.
A horn is answered with another horn.
A small mistake becomes a heated argument.
A few seconds at a red light feel unbearable.
We call it Road Rage.
But perhaps it begins long before we start the engine.
Road rage is rarely about the vehicle in front of us.
It’s often the result of everything we’re carrying inside us, stress from work, lack of sleep, financial pressure, personal worries, or simply a mind that has forgotten how to slow down.
The road becomes the place where all that hidden frustration finally finds a way out.
Ironically, the hurry that fuels our anger rarely saves much time.
Speeding through traffic might gain a minute.
Losing our temper can ruin an entire day.
Sometimes, it can change lives forever.
Every driver on the road is fighting a battle we cannot see.
The person driving slowly may be taking an elderly parent to the hospital.
The rider who hesitates may be a new learner.
The pedestrian crossing the road may simply be trying to get home safely.
A little patience can prevent far more than a traffic jam.
It can prevent regret.
A city is not judged only by its roads and flyovers.
It is also judged by how its people treat one another in everyday moments.
Imagine if Indore became known not only as India’s cleanest city, but also as one of its most courteous.
That transformation wouldn’t begin with new infrastructure.
It would begin with one driver choosing patience over anger.
Because the fastest route is not always the best one.
Sometimes, arriving peacefully is the real success.
Reflection
Ask yourself:
“The next time someone makes a mistake on the road, will I react with anger… or respond with understanding?”
The journey isn’t only about reaching your destination.
It’s also about the kind of person you become along the way.
