Direct flight from Indore to Shirdi, Nagpur, Lucknow, Surat and Chennai from October.

Not even 15 days have passed when Indore’s Devi Ahilya Bai Airport got its International Airport status heading with the inauguration flight taking off to Dubai International Airport, and here is another good news for Indorians. Vistara, Indigo, and Go-airways grabbing the opportunity has asked DGCA to start their planned flights for the winter schedule, Vistara has asked to start its operations for Indore-Delhi flight while Go-Airways has asked for flight from Indore to Shirdi, Nagpur, and Chennai respectively, and on the other hand Indigo Airways has asked for flight from Indore to Lucknow and Surat as well. Big Airlines are looking towards Indore for more business as the Cosmopolitan has witnessed a rapid growth in the Flight accommodation industry since its commercial operations started.

The Indore-Shirdi flight will be a good-gainer for airline companies as more than 60,000 visitors are seen coming in Shirdi every day during the season, many are from M.P. as well, and Indorians will have a facility of direct flight to visit there.

If DGCA approves, Indore will have better connectivity with nearby metro cities and will put a good impact on the growth of Aviation Industry Business. The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) is the Indian governmental regulatory board for civil aviation under the Ministry of Civil Aviation. Indore had 110+ flights earlier but in the summer schedule; less than 80 flights are running, and after the closure of Jet Airways only 60-65 flights are left actively running. If the permissions are granted the Airport will again have approx. 100 flights.

Now Airline companies are looking in the central region of India to feature better domestic connectivity through flights. Prime Minister Narendra Modi also showed interest in starting cheap domestic flights as it’s a big move. Some airlines are also heard to start flights to Ahmedabad, Mumbai, and Jaipur as well.

The Airport Director Ms. Aryama Sanyal said, “The airlines have been allotted slots in a proposed winter schedule, which will be effective from 27 October 2019 to 28 March 2020.”
