6000 Jeans, Indori Artist Sahil Lahari and 100 Team Member made world Record for Indore.
Who would’ve thought, that something as mundane as Jeans could be converted into a 100×100 feet masterpiece as a tribute to our city Indore! Artist Ankit Lahari ‘Sahil’ made it possible through his vision and sheer determination. On 1st March 2020, Sahil and 100 other artists gathered at the Modern Group of Institute’s Basketball court and together gave life to Sahil’s concept of Denim Art on a larger than life Canvas. The Abstract Art visualized Rajwada, Indore with ‘Indore India’s cleanest City’ as its main highlight.
This major feat earned Sahil Lahari a place in the World Book of Records: London. The Certificate of Record was presented to him by the official team of World Book of Records in the presence of Shri Virendra Sharma (Member of Parliament, England), Dr. Diwakar Sukul (Chairman, WBR, London) and Shri Santosh Shukla, Advocate, Supreme Court (President, WBR) who congratulated his vision and creative excellence. World Book of Records (WBR) is known to be one of the leading organizations for the International Certification of World Records. Spread across continents like Europe, North America, South America, Africa, Asia, and Australia holds a wide network of global presence. WBR provides International Certification to potential talents and capabilities of World Records and honors personalities with remarkable achievements. WBR also lists places of outstanding contribution for Humanity and Universal peace.
In an interview, Sahil Lahari mentioned that the idea to create this magnanimous artwork brewed in his mind five years ago. At that time he wasn’t capable enough to give his ideas a life, lacking sufficient finances and guts to take up this herculean challenge. Now five years later, much more confident in his capabilities, Sahil organized the creation of his dream. He stated that approximately Six thousand jeans were used to create the entire art, with jeans donated by people from Dubai, Mumbai, Delhi, Bhopal, Ujjain, Ahmadabad and a lot of different cities from all around. Jeans with Blue color themes, Dark blue, and Denim blue, sky blue and white-blue were primarily used to create the whole thing. The final look was awe-inspiring from the aerial view, a perfect arrangement showcasing Indore’s pride at being India’s No. 1 cleanest city.
Guests like Dr. Pradeep Mishra, Mr. Ashish Mishra, Dr. Supriya Pathak, and Mr. Mayank Gupta were present to congratulate the artist. Shri Umakant Chaudhary (DSP, Traffic), Shri Arun Kharia (President), Shri Shantanu Kharia (Vice President) and Shri Puneet Kumar Dwivedi (Group Director) of Modern Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences, graced with their presence.
This World Record once again brought forward a shining name of our city Indore, with Sahil Lahari’s artwork making the Indoris’ proud. The immense effort, vision, and hard work paid off, leaving an immaculate piece of art in its wake.
