Strong Cities Are Built by Women Who Don’t Just Live in Them, They Help Shape Them!
When we think about contributing to our city, we often imagine politicians, administrators, or policymakers.

The encouraging news is that women across India are becoming increasingly active in public life. In the 2024 General Elections, women accounted for nearly 48.6% of the electorate, with a voter turnout of 65.78%, slightly higher than that of men.
At the grassroots level, the change is even more remarkable. Today, over 14.5 lakh women serve as elected representatives in Panchayati Raj Institutions, accounting for nearly 46% of all elected representatives. Their leadership has strengthened attention to issues such as drinking water, sanitation, healthcare, nutrition, and education.
These numbers tell an important story.
When women participate, priorities change.
Conversations become more inclusive.
Communities become stronger.
For a fast-growing city like Indore, civic participation doesn’t always begin with contesting elections. It can start with joining a resident welfare association, supporting environmental initiatives, mentoring young girls, volunteering with local organisations, participating in public consultations, or simply raising your voice on issues that matter.
Every meaningful change begins with citizens who care enough to get involved.
The future of Indore won’t be defined only by new infrastructure, investments, or technology.
It will also be defined by women who choose to lead conversations, build communities, and actively shape the city they want future generations to inherit.
Because a truly progressive city isn’t one where women are merely represented.
It’s one where women are heard, respected, and involved in every decision that shapes its future.
